WS-220 Repivoting Clocks and Watches with the Microlathe

Course dates: Saturday, June 28, 2008

Traditionally  , repivoting of watch and clock arbors are done on a watchmakers lathe.  In this one day workshop the student will learn a repivoting procedure using the micro lathe as an alternative.  Topics covered include:

  • Set up of the lathe
  • Review of the tools and materials
  • Finding and drilling centers
  • Making the replacement pivot
  • Inserting and polishing the pivot

This workshop is for the advanced student or the professional watch and clock maker.  All materials will be supplied.  This is a great opportunity to learn an alternative method of repivoting.  This workshop is held in conjunction with WS-221, Using a Micro Mill to Rebush a Clock.

The workshop will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30.  This includes two 15 minute breaks and 1½ hours for lunch.

For additional information contact Katie Knaub at the NAWCC School of Horology: 717-684-8261, ext. 237.
