WS-215 Tool Grinding
Course dates: Saturday and Sunday, August 16 - 17, 2008
One of the keys factors in successful machining practices is the use of the correct cutting tools. This 2 day workshop will demonstrate the proper methods in making and maintaining machine tools. Topics covered will include:
- Cutting tool materials
- Grinding and sharpening materials
- Tool grinding
- Tool contouring
- Graver shaping
- Tool sharpening
- Tool maintenance
This workshop is for the advanced student or the experienced watchmaker. All tools and materials will be provided. This is an excellent companion course for WS-214.
The workshop will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30. This includes two 15 minute breaks and 1½ hours for lunch. |
