WS-202 Basic Servicing of a Repeater Watch
Course dates: Saturday and Sunday, April 26 - 27, 2008
Repeater watches have long fascinated horologists with their complexity and precision. This 2 day workshop is an introduction into the proper servicing of the repeater pocket watch. Topics covered in the workshop will include:
- Examination and evaluation of the watch
- How the mechanics of the movement works
- Removing the movement from the case
- Disassembly and cleaning
- Reassembly and lubrication
- Returning the movement to its case
- Timing and adjusting the watch
This hand on workshop is structured for students with some basic watch repair experience and they must supply their own timepiece. All other tools and materials will be supplied. This is an excellent opportunity for those who own a repeater watch that they wish to have serviced.
The workshop will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. This includes two 15 minute breaks and 1½ hours for lunch. |
