About the Cover
The clock illustrated on our front cover was the first (" cottage clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock company in 1852. This first model, the Flat Top with an ogee base, had a co-hour time and alarm movement with brass springs. The Seth Thomas Clock Company continued manufacturing 9" cottage clocks until 1898 when production of 9" cottage clocks was discontinued. During those 47 years the company would produce 19 different style cases and use nine different movements. |
