About the Cover
On the front cover, The painting by Patrick Reynolds which will be
featured as part of the new NAWCC Museum exhibits when it re-opens in
1999. Mr. Reynolds shows the surveying work done by Mason and Dixon to
end the boundary dispute between Pennsylvania and Maryland, during the
years, 1763 to 1767. Note the tall case clock, which was used to
record celestial events during the survey. See p. 765 for more about
