This month's cover features an enlarged portrayal of a watch, ca.1790, from the James Arthur collection on display at the National Watch and Clock Museum®. This watch was made by J.H. Kuhn, a master watchmaker who apprenticed in Lubeck, Germany, and moved to Amsterdam in 1788. The beautifully enameled case contains a fusee, full-plate movement with a pierced cock and Bosley regulator. The watch also features beetle and poker hands and is wound through the dial. The outside case diameter dimension is actually 45mm.
