The International Time Recording Company (ITR) was established in 1900 after buying out the Bundy Manufacturing Company. (Birmingham, New York), the world's first manufacturers of time recorders. Following a period of significant growth in which ITR acquired several companies, the firm left Birmingham and relocated in Endicott, New York. After a merger in 1911, the company was renamed the Computing-Tabulation-Recording-Company (CTR), however, the ITR name remained on the manufacturer's labels. In 1919, the company was once again restructured and the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) emerged. This electric master clock was the heart of an electric time system. Several secondary clocks would have been wired to the master and therefore synchronous with one another. This clock runs on twenty four volts.
