Cast -Iron blinking eye or "Winker" clocks were patented in 1857 by Pietro Cinquini. He assigned the patents to the Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company who began production immediately. The company bought movements stamped "C. Jerome", on the movement. Once the Civil War began, production on these clocks was temporarily suspended until 1866.
