Patent Timepiece, c.1830
Job Wilbour
Newport, Rhode Island

The success of Willard's patent timepiece design extended well beyond the Boston/Roxbury area. While many contemporaries were producing and selling imitation Willard clocks, clockmakers like Job Wilbour and David Williams produced movements that clearly departed from the Willard tradition.

In this example Wilbour used an "A" frame movement. The wheels (or gears), suspension spring and winding arbor location differ from Willard style movements.
