Update your skill set with this two day intensive class on case restoration. During the class you will learn all about appropriate finishes for antique pieces, including how to mix and tint shellac flakes, use hide glue, make veneer and marquetry repairs, reamalgamate finishes, make circular cuts in glass, cold cast molds, and repair damaged areas. In depth discussions will include historical perspectives, stains, top coats, glues, tools, and detecting fraudulent pieces.
All materials needed for the workshop will be supplied, but participants must supply their own cases. Please be advised that you will not complete a case restoration in the time period of the workshop. Both beginner and advance students are welcome to attend this workshop that will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the National Watch & Clock Museum. This includes two 15-minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch. |
