This one day workshop will provide a solid understanding in veneering and marquetry basics. The class will cover repairs, techniques, and history. Students will create two marquetry patterns that are often seen on 18th century furniture, a shaded fan pattern and a compass rose. Sand shading and the use of hide glue will also be covered. All materials needed for the workshop will be supplied. Both beginner and advance students are welcome to attend this workshop that will be held on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the National Watch & Clock Museum. This includes two 15-minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch.
