This webinar will explore the process that researcher Christine Griffen followed to unearth the story behind this clock.

About the Presenter: Christine Griffen a recently retired Intel Sr. Engineering Director from Oregon and clock collector is researching the history of the Herschede Clock Company over a twelve-month period. Her research project scope covers all four generations (1885 to 1984) of Herschede clock design, manufacturing, advertising/marketing, and key dealers.  The project will also explore the Herschede family and Arnold, Industries leadership of the clock business.  The fellow will draw upon many sources such as prior employee’s, archival information at state historical museums, newspapers, and Herschede dealers. The result of her research will include an article in the Bulletin and a webinar (April 2017) on her progress and discoveries. Christine’s interest in the Herschede Clock Company came from the purchase and subsequent research of a Herschede nine tubular chiming tall case custom clock made for Eleanor A. Widen/Clark of Saint Louis, MO and later of San Francisco, CA.
